Training & Assessment Sessions - One of our leading retail trainers/assessors will develop a series of training and assessment sessions that are scheduled once a month or as frequent as you like to support and guide the participants through their learning, at a time convenient to you. This gives participants the opportunity to practice their skills together with no exams or deadlines. Assessments are completed by gathering evidence such as: Observation of skills, Role play's, demonstrations, Questions and answers and reports from workplace mentors/supervisors.

Competency based training - Competency implies the trainee has demonstrated appropriate skill, knowledge, understanding and attitudes in relation to tasks, and is able to perform to a standard established by the industry.

National competency standards define the competencies required for effective workplace performance. They also act as a benchmark for training, assessment and quality control.

Being competent means that you can learn and retain knowledge, understand how it fits into the organisation and put it into practice in the workplace in line with their standards and procedures.

Competency based takes prior experience into account through the RPL process (Recognition Of Prior Learning) This is the process of recognising the competencies obtained by an individual through previous or current training/work/life experiences, and in turn upon approval through Total Retail Training can be deemed exempt for a portion of the course.

The participants cannot fail this training. Any areas of assessment that do not meet the set standards will be given more time for training and re-assessment eventually achieving competency
